creating space

abstract art by LL Griffin

What does creating space really mean?

Coming to quiet. It, also means giving myself time and energy to let my mind wonder. Whether it’s painting and or watching my pets. I believe one needs room – maybe a decision needs to be made or you’re tired and taking time to rest and restore is the most you can do that moment.

As Lao Tzu reminds us that;

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.

the end, the beginning

The End

The Beginning

In the spirit of transitions, I’m sharing my art that speaks to endings with hope toward a new beginning, as well as prose that inspire.

Our life is an apprenticeship to the truth that around every circle another can be drawn; that there is no end in nature, but every end is a beginning; that there is always another dawn risen on midnoon, and under every deep a lower deep opensEmerson

…What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start … TS Eliot Four Quartets 4: Little Gidding

New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings Lao Tzu

In winter everything appears dead

During the winter where I live, the light is beautiful but there isn’t enough of it.

nature is does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished – Lao Tzu

The colors of nature are all earth tones and it seems like we’re encouraged to use this time be quiet and reflective, more this year than any other.

But there’s a pull to be festive and flashy and always a certain amount of pressure to get into the holiday spirit.  So, the colors that are all around us are, fire engine red and forest green and bright shiny silver, those colors are so full of energy.energy that personally I don’t have right now.

I’ll take my lead from nature, and practice pausing and allowing to restore and appreciate the beauty of the trees without leaves.
